On Saturday, March 22nd, LA-Underground.net is hosting a ginormous bill at Mr. T's Bowl in Highland Park featuring Tenlons Fort.
Tenlons Fort is one of the more beautiful and profound flourishes this Universe has lent to us. For us, it was an instance of Transformation to first hear "Ghost on a Hill". After only a couple brief encounters with Jack's songs, they become like premonitions of how the entire experience of Music fits within and without our Humanity. Pure Truth put to song.
LA-Underground wrote a nice feature on Tenlons Fort a while back.
Jack recently relocated to Austin, TX and is making his way back to Los Angeles for this show, as well as a date with Alex and Sam at Hotel Cafe on the 27th.
Also playing on the 22nd are the wonderful Avi Buffalo and Friends from Long Beach. LA-Underground posted a feature on them in early February. The
first time we heard them play we were a little beside ourselves. Now that we've had a chance to adjust to the prodigious behavior in kids these days, we're a little less surprised. The World is about to enjoy a New Humanity and the generations to come will be the ones that will teach us how to tap into our potential as Creative and Loving Beings.
Speaking of tapping in, also playing this night are the Cobra Lilies.
Their drummer is a Tap Dancer!
Cobra Lilies features members of The Monolators, & Ashley Jex from RockInsider. LA-Underground sometimes joins in on the fun too.
Ema & the Ghosts is on every Jukebox in Heaven, and the majority of the band Hails from there. Their lead-singer Ema is from Earth. Ema is not entirely of this Earth, and that's probably how she managed to recruit such an impeccable backup band! LA-Underground wrote a nice feature article about them with video back in October '07.
As for theSweetHurt, & No Little Kindness, we haven't heard either of them live, but judging by the rest of the LivingLoveMusics LA-Underground has exposed us to, they're going to be 1-derous! theSweetHurt will be performing a solo acoustic set, and No Little Kindness is a six-piece from Pasadena, CA. LA-Underground has recently featured N.L.K. on their blog here.
If you haven't been to Mr. T's Bowl before, we're warning you...we've been there a number of times and we still have trouble finding it. The sign at 5621 1/2 Figueroa is cryptic. Don't look for the sign pictured on the site. That's in the back. We think. Here's a map. There's parking in the back and detailed directions on Mr. T's website. When you get inside, you'll feel like the LA Underground is precisely where you are.
